The deliverable
Custom wanted poster download: what is actually in the file
The digital download is the product here, not a consolation prize for people who did not want to pay for shipping. So it is worth being precise about what arrives: dimensions, formats, licence, and what you can and cannot do with it.
Instant download
One poster, both file formats, no watermark.
- PDF and PNG at 3600 × 4680 px
- 300 DPI, print-ready as delivered
- Unlimited prints under a personal-use licence
- Free re-downloads, so losing it costs nothing
Optional add-on
A physical print on museum-grade cotton, shipped in 3–5 business days.
A separate thing you can add, not an upgrade to the file. Sizes and dimensions are in the formats guide.

The 30 × 40 cm figure is the size at which the file still holds a full 300 DPI. You can print far bigger than that — posters are viewed from further away as they grow — and the arithmetic for wall-scale sheets is worked through on the A1 page. For desk and shelf sizes, see the A4 page.
Free preview versus paid file
Watermarked preview — free
Downloadable without an account or a card. Same composition, same wording, with a watermark across it. Made for checking, sharing with a co-conspirator, and printing a test.
Clean file — $4.95
The watermark is gone and the file is produced at full print resolution. This is the version you frame, print in a batch, or hand to a print shop.
Things people do with the file besides framing it
- Send the PNG into the group chat the morning of the birthday.
- Set it as a lock screen on the victim's own phone while they are not looking.
- Print six copies and staple them around an office like a genuine manhunt.
- Upload the PDF to a photo lab and have it come back on foam board.
- Keep it. Files do not fade, and you can print the same poster again in ten years.
All of that is covered by the personal-use licence, which allows unlimited prints of your own poster. What it does not allow is reselling the file or putting it on merchandise for sale.
Making several at once
Sets are common: a whole team, a family, four housemates. Each poster is created separately in the editor, and the price per poster falls as the order grows — a three-poster bundle is $11.95. The practical advice is to build them all before printing anything, so you can run one batch on the same paper.
For wording that varies person to person without repeating itself, the gift ideas hub is organised by occasion and the brief-writing guide by line. When it comes to putting the set on a wall, the wall art page covers spacing and grouping.
Download questions
When do I get the file?
Straight away. The download is the product, so there is no production or shipping step between the order and the file.
PDF or PNG, which should I use?
Use the PDF for anything that goes on paper: it keeps the type sharp and page scaling behaves predictably at a print shop. Use the PNG for screens, messages and anywhere an image is expected.
What does the personal-use licence cover?
Printing, framing, hanging and giving away your own poster, as many copies as you want. It does not cover reselling the file or using it as merchandise.
Can I make several posters in one order?
Yes. A three-poster bundle is $11.95, and the volume discount grows with the number of posters in the same order, which is what makes team and family sets worth doing in one go.
Is a printed poster included?
No, and it does not need to be. A printed copy on museum-grade cotton is a separate optional add-on from $19.99, shipped in 3–5 business days.
Build it, see it, then decide
The watermarked preview costs nothing and needs no account. The clean 300 DPI file is $4.95.
